DAN Launches New Initiative To Be a Buddy to All
On November 8th, Divers Alert Network begins a year-long celebration of all the ways DAN benefits our members. It starts with the launch of "DAN Is My Buddy," a retooling of DAN's Student Membership Program that is certain to excite prospective and student divers.
The Student Membership Program is a free program offered to all entry-level divers and includes $20,000 of recompression treatment insurance in the unlikely event a student develops decompression illness during the course of their training. It is open to all entry-level divers, and any certified scuba instructor in the DAN Americas region may enroll their students. A new "DAN Is My Buddy" DVD is available to all instructors for their use in class, as well as a student version for new divers to take home. A new interactive website, www.danismybuddy.com was created to answer questions and concerns commonly expressed by new divers, and to provide excitement and information just when a new diver wants it most.
But it's not all about the student diver - "DAN Is My Buddy" is designed to highlight all the ways DAN is a buddy to virtually every participant in the dive industry. A new online member discount program lets DAN Members know that we are constantly seeking ways to increase the benefits brought to them through DAN Membership. A new online store (launching in January 2007) will offer a similar benefit with the introduction of special member pricing. A revitalized, exciting new product line and a redesigned product price structure bring new opportunities to DAN Business Members as we seek to support those on the front lines of diver development. Training programs and education initiatives unveil how DAN is everybody's training buddy; any diver completing DAN Training gains valuable knowledge and confidence, while instructors and businesses offering the programs find them extremely effective in generating Continuing Education Business, especially in locations where classes that require no in-water training are most welcome in winter months. Finally, ongoing medical research, seminars and programs highlight the latest in diving medicine research and remind everyone of the original buddy every diver has always known DAN to be.
From the moment it was founded, DAN's primary purpose has been to protect, educate and assist all divers. We continually strive to fulfill our vision and make every dive accident- and injury-free. Through our efforts, DAN has proven to be a valuable resource - indeed, a buddy - to every aspect of the dive industry. "DAN Is My Buddy" celebrates that fact and reminds everyone that while DAN is truly a buddy to all, we will never stop seeking ways to improve and accomplish our mission of being there for each and every diver.<
